“12 Years of DFA Records”

The latest film from Red Bull Music Academy is an amazingly awesome thirteen minute film detailing the twelve year history of the DFA record label.  It is a quick but through history through a label that has released 141 12″ singles, 34 albums and 6 compilations while still remaining small and relatively underground.  There are too many great things about this video to rattle off here, so just watch it below.  Recommended.

  1. Wow, so many greats, this is an amazing label I haven’t had a chance to thoroughly check, thanks for this.

  2. I am totally the wrong demographic for this music — although I do dance like an awkward white person — but I absolutely loved that video. It’s extremely well done. (Kris Petersen looks like he could be George Michael Bluth’s brother.)
